Here we are again, with another Sligo Food News blog post. There is a different format this month, where businesses contacted me to tell me their news, thanks so much to all who did.

News from The Glasshouse, Sligo

Thursday Theme Menu in The Glasshouse Sligo

A wooden platter filled with various grilled meats including ribs, chicken wings, sausage, and sides of vegetables, with a glass of red wine and other condiments.

Come and join us for a Thursday Night Special โ€“ North Carolina BBQ Night at The Glasshouse Hotel. Running until the 27th of August at 6pm.  
Enjoy a slow cooked and tasty BBQ night offering served with a Local Craft Beer or a Glass of House Wine or Mineral.  Then followed by a sweet dessert treat.
Cost โ‚ฌ59.00 per couple / two people sharing. 
Prebooking essential – please advise if you have any dietary requirements. 
Thursday Theme Night will be held in The Kitchen Restaurant on the ground floor for a limited time and pre booking is essential.  Time from 6pm to 8pm

On Thursday 23rd July Enjoy a tapas offering from the Sligo Food Trail – fringe event in association with Taste of Sligo Food Festival. Keep an eye on the Sligo Food Trail Instagram page for details.

Sligo Food Trail in conjunction with Visit Sligo recently launched the Sligo Picnic initiative, and I was invited to The Ocean Sands Hotel in Enniscrone to try their offering, and it was wonderful! I love the idea of picking up a picnic and heading off wherever the road takes you. No more sweaty sandwiches from home! Osta, Sligo Updates

A plate of salad featuring mixed greens, diced vegetables, slices of meat, and halved boiled eggs, with a promotional message for ร“sta Cafรฉ and Wine Bar about serving food until 8pm and a new wine list.

Summer Opening Hours  – Open 7 days
From Monday to Saturday we will be serving food until 8pm. 
New times from Monday 6th July
Mon to Sat 7.15am  to 8.15pm
Sunday 8am to 6pm
Enjoy a lovely wine and light food menu for the summer evenings – Menu to follow.

Regular events

The Osta Sessions โ€“ live music by our resident jazz folk duo Felip Carbonell and Eddie McFarlane and often joined by their many talented friends.   Thursdays 5pm to 7pm
Irish conversation meetup โ€“ Fridays from 5pm to 6.30pm โ€“ all levels welcome.

On July 23rd Sligo Food Festival Fringe!
We are joining other great Sligo food venues for the Sligo Tapas Trail!   Details have yet to be finalised but Lough Gill Brewery will be supplying a glass of beer to accompany tapas dishes from 5 to 8pm
Dishes in each location will be โ‚ฌ10 including a drink. 

July 2026 โ€“ Celebrating 20 years of Osta Cafรฉ & Wine Bar. Join us on Monday 27th July to celebrate all our suppliers, our teams and customers and our memories. 


Ggs Foodtruck News

Gg’s Foodtruck are very busy this summer. As well as catering for private events, you can find them at some of the Cairde Festival events. They’ll be in Queen Maeve Square on the 10th and 11th of July and will return to the square for the Taste of Sligo Food Festival on the 25th and 26th of this month.

Pasta-Making Workshop – Sunday, 12th July 

There are still a couple ofspaces left for our pasta-making workshop taking place in our shop on Sunday, 12th July at 2.30pm. 
The workshop lasts approx 2.5 hours and the price is โ‚ฌ75 per person.

Brew Outpost Coffee cart is in the North Shore car park. It will be there 7 days a week from 9am – 3pm, serving all different types of coffees, hot and cold drinks, including ice coffees as well as home baked goodies and pastries. The coffee beans from Milligram in Sligo town. North Shore is in Grange – turn left heading towards Streedagh, and it’s just on the left.

Pizza 2 Go opened in Coolaney on July 1st!

REDZ Catering @ Tubbercurry Golf Club

Serving breakfast and lunch from Wednesday to Sunday.
Breakfast served until 12pm
Lunch menu until 5pm

The Veggie breakfast can be gluten-free without toast.
The soup of the day is vegetarian and gluten-free.
We will be stocking gluten-free bread and buns for sandwiches and burgers to be made gluten-free.
The Penne Arrabbiata is vegan.

The Jam Pot Cafe, Grange

The Jam Pot Cafe is now open 6 days a week, Tuesday to Saturday 10 to 4pm and Sunday 10 to 3pm. We have our all day brunch menu, ranging from our full breakfast & famous French toast to soup and sandwiches. We also have all our homemade cakes, scones & traybakes, all made in our cafe. A new era is coming for Hooked restaurant with the announcement of Jafar Toya as Head Chef. Originally from Sudan, Jafar brings new ideas with fresh flavours and brilliant positivity to the team that he always had . Jafar brings a wealth of knowledge and experience having worked his way up the ladder over the past 14 years from his days in Tra Bรกn Eala Bhรกn to Hooked.

Foam at The Model will be open 7 days a week soon. We will be extending our food offering into the weekends and will have a new brunch menu for Saturdayโ€™s only, which we hope to extend to do Sundays in a few weeks.
