A Visit to Windy Shore Crafts – A Beautiful New Shop in Rathcormac

There’s something very special about seeing someone take the next big step in doing what they love, and that’s exactly what Beatrice of Windy Shore Crafts has done.

If you’ve ever wandered through Strandhill People’s Market, Sligo Indoor Market, or Rathcormac Market, chances are you’ve come across Beatrice and her beautiful stall. Known for her stunning handmade jewellery, thoughtful cards, and unique crafts, she’s always been a familiar and welcoming presence. And now, she has a space of her very own, and it’s every bit as lovely as you’d imagine.

I visited her new shop today, and it was such a relaxing experience. The space itself is beautifully laid out, full of charm and creativity, with every corner showcasing stunning craft. It’s the kind of place where you can take your time, browse at your leisure, and soak in the calm, creative atmosphere.

You’ll find Windy Shore Crafts in Rathcormac Craft Village, which is a perfect location. There’s free parking, which is always a bonus, and the village itself is a little hub of creativity. With other makers and artists nearby, it’s well worth spending some time exploring. Whether you’re popping into studios, admiring artwork, or picking up something special, there’s plenty to enjoy.

And no visit would be complete without stopping into the Vintage Lane Café. It’s the ideal spot to unwind after a browse, whether that’s with a gorgeous coffee and a sweet treat, or something more substantial for lunch. Sitting beside the fire with something delicious is hard to beat.

If you happen to visit on a Saturday, you’re in for even more of a treat, as Rathcormac Market is on. There’s always a lovely buzz, with a great mix of stalls. Keep an eye out for Spark of Soy Candles, and definitely don’t miss SteveO’s – the food is incredible. The Stromboli is a personal favourite and absolutely worth trying.

Back in the shop, you’ll also find a selection of products from other talented creatives. On my visit, I picked up some delicious macarons from Yellow Bird Bakes, along with granola from Maddy’s Sweet Treats. Some of you might remember Maddy from the market, she now has her own bakery in Ballintra, Co. Donegal, which is wonderful to see.

Windy Shore Crafts is located in Branley’s Yard, Rathcormac, Co. Sligo (F91 PDE6). Be sure to follow along on Facebook to keep up to date with opening days and hours, and to see more photos from the shop.

It’s always a joy to support local, and even more so when it’s someone as genuinely lovely as Beatrice. Wishing her every success in this exciting new chapter, it’s so well deserved.
