Monday Miscellany

I didn’t get a chance to write a Sunday Thoughts blog post yesterday, so you’ve got a Monday Miscellany post instead! I’m way behind in blog posts, and I will get to them eventually, but for now I’ll just do a roundup of last week.

There was a little bit of everything; the kind of week I like. I was interviewed on local radio about the Indie Authors Ireland Rewind Anthology, you can read more about that, and here the interview here.

I recorded a podcast with local author Martha Higgins, she’s recently released her debut novel, and you can hear all about it over on the podcast, or below:

I’ve had trouble sleeping, the heat hasn’t been helping. It hasn’t been anything like the UK, but it has been humid, and I found it difficult to stay asleep. I was awake at a silly hour on Friday morning, so I decided to head to Enniskillen. Asda is open 24 hours on Tuesday – Friday, and although the value for money isn’t there anymore, it’s still nice to have a change of scenery, the petrol is much cheaper in Blacklion too (20 cent a litre cheaper!) The mural at the top is in Enniskillen

After a mooch around Asda I went up the town, I was looking for a place for breakfast. The first place I went to wasn’t serving breakfast until 9am (and I didn’t want a cake – surprisingly), the next place was very busy, and I felt like I wasn’t the target market (although that’s probably on me – you know what I’m like). Third time lucky as I stumbled across the Gourmet Grocer, what an incredible shop! I bought some delicious things there, and upstairs is a lovely café, and I had a smoothie bowl – it was fab! I really enjoyed my early morning excursion; it was lovely to do something different.

On Saturday me and Lucy went to Castlebar. I’m doing mini ‘hen’ party events for just me and her, on the lead up to her wedding. This was the first one. I booked us tickets for Taylor Fever, a Taylor Swift tribute. We had no idea what it would be like, I had visions of someone miming, a few kids running around, and a glitter ball. It was amazing though! Lucy said it was so similar to The Eras Tour, including the costumes, choreography, etc. They just missed out one of the eras. It was a brilliant event, and the place was wedged! Over 2000 people signing along, and I was slightly deafened by the screams! We both really enjoyed it.

Before the concert we had a quick look in TK Maxx and Next, and you’ll never believe it, but I found two dresses that I love for the wedding, and both were in the sale! I couldn’t decide which one to buy so I got both. I’m delighted because I was starting to think I wouldn’t find anything.

We also went to dinner in Castlebar, there is an amazing Italian restaurant there, it’s called Al Muretto, and the food is outstanding! I’d recommend booking a table though, we didn’t, but luckily, they managed to fit us in, but it is a very busy spot, and it’s easy to see why.

Sunday was spent recovering, I’m too old for nights out! It wasn’t even a late night, the concert ended at 10pm and we were home just after 11pm, I’m just a lightweight.

So, there you have it, that’s a round up of my week. This week is much quieter, but it was great though. I hope you are all keeping well, and thanks for reading.
