Happy Sunday! It’s the last Sunday of March, and Mother’s Day, the clocks went forward as well. Talk about everything happening at once! I’m late writing this week’s Sunday Thoughts. I’d usually have it done first thing in the morning, but I met a friend for a long overdue catch-up, which was a lovely way to spend the morning.
I also met another friend yesterday, so after a bit of a drought of not seeing anyone outside the family, my social side has been boosted. I’m in much better form than I was this time last week and again thank you to those who sent messages and left comments. I’m still not thinking about podcasting, I think it’s going to take me a while to recover from the knock back, and that’s OK. I hope it doesn’t go the same way as my painting though, I really can’t get into the right headspace for painting, and I do miss it. Hopefully I’ll get back to it soon.
Speaking of creativity, there are a couple of projects on the horizon, I will tell you more about them when the time is right. I love to have at least one creative project a year, so to have two this year is wonderful. The book took up my creativity last year, and I’m very pleased with how well it did, I was a bit disappointed that someone had a pop at it, but that’s their issue, not mine. It was mainly aimed at the lack of social media about it, that’s because it sold out. I’m not going to keep posting about something that is no longer available, and to that person, we didn’t get 1000 copies printed, we got 300, which was purely down to finance, as we didn’t get funding. In future, I’d love if someone has something to say that they’d say it to my face and not post it online.
Anyway, onto other things. With it being Mother’s Day, I went to my mum’s grave yesterday and left a rose there and had a little chat. Those who know me in real life will know what a big thing that was for me. I don’t know what made me go, I just knew when I woke up yesterday that it was something I needed to do, and I’m glad that I did it.
It’s been a busy week, including a meeting in Carrick on Shannon, which gave me a chance to visit Sonnies Coffee House – put it on your list, it’s great! I also called to Sligo’s newest café – Tank and Skinny’s. I’m looking forward to visiting again when Lucy comes over.
Another highlight this week was the brown bin being delivered. How sad am I to get excited by a bin? Just call me a binfluencer! We’d been waiting for one for years, and although we try our best not to waste food, occasionally it does happen. It’ll be handy for garden clippings too.
I’ve been watching films on Disney, they have an offer at the moment for 1.99 a month for four months, so I’ve quit Netflix, and gone to Disney. I’ve seen Quiz Lady (it’s great!), 13 Going On 30 (good), 27 Dresses (meh), Calendar Girls (grand), and now I’m halfway through Freaky Friday, which I’ve somehow never seen before.
I’m listening to The Crow Girl on audio book, it’s a hard listen, but I’m gripped. I tried to read it, but I couldn’t get in the mindset, so the audiobook is perfect for me.
Last Sunday I went to a Spring Equinox event, it was in the beautiful Longford Demesne, where I’ve been once before. I’d love to go back again to explore it with my camera. I do show myself up though, we were asked for a word for each of the elements, everyone was coming up with beautiful words, my word for fire was orange! Wow, how profound!
I hope you are all having a lovely Sunday and aren’t missing the lost hour of sleep too much. It’ll be lovely to see the grand stretch in the evening though. Thanks for reading.
