Sunday Thoughts

Happy Sunday, and what a glorious day it is here in Sligo. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the hedgerows are full of golden daffodils and pale primroses. The gorse is in full bloom, bright yellow against a blue and white sky. Spring is here, for today anyway.

If you read the blog, and not just the social media pages, you’ll have seen that I had a bit of a wobble during the week, you can read it here. I was starting to question why I do what I do, as in blogging. A sincere thank you to the people who got in contact with me, it’s so appreciated, and nice to know that I’m not just talking to myself.

I must realise that not everyone knows about the time and effort that I put into blogging, and it’s not about them, it’s about how I react to it, and as it’s my blog, I can really blog about whatever I choose to. I think it’s time to go back to the start, and to mainly focus on the things I love.

I think a lot of the funk was caused by not being as creative as I’d like to be. I wasn’t in the mind frame to go out exploring or taking photos, but that changed yesterday and today, and the joy of getting behind a camera and discovering new places opened my eyes to what is important to me.

I’d also like to get back to painting, that bug has been gone for months, and I do miss it. It was my way to relax and switch off. It really doesn’t do me any good being behind a computer for so long.

It also did me good going to the Sligo Women in Business meeting, although I was exhausted afterwards, I’m not used to speaking to so many people, they are all incredibly supportive though, and Sligo is lucky to have such a great network.

My day trip to Mayo yesterday was incredible, it’s fascinating to have so many wonderful places close to home. I have another few places that I’d like to explore too, it’s just finding the time to get there.

I’ve been off for a long walk already this morning, and I met a couple of people along the way, and stopped for the chats, the rest of the day will be a quiet one, to settle myself before a busy week ahead. Happy Sunday to you all and thank you to the kind people again who got in touch. You know who you are, and you make a difference.
