What a rollercoaster of a week it’s been. It’s going to be hard to write the Sunday Thoughts blog post this week because I have so much to say, and I know I’ll forget most of it.
Monday started off with a podcast recording in Boyle with Eilish from Strokestown Park, the podcast really is my happy place. I love talking to people and I always ended up saying too much as well (why did I bring up that someone once said I was a cross between God and Bono!) I knew I had to keep myself busy on Monday before the nerves took over for the book launch.

Anyway, you can listen to the podcast here, thanks to Brian in The Spool Factory for giving us a space to record it. That’s one of my biggest struggles when recording the podcast, I don’t have a space in Sligo town and as the podcast doesn’t generate an income I don’t have the funds to pay for a space, so if anyone out there has somewhere quiet that I can use for about an hour every couple of weeks (probably not even that), I’d be very grateful.
The launch of our book Happy Out took place on Monday night at The Glasshouse Hotel, I was there early to settle myself and people started arriving early, but it was all good and I was grateful for the chats. I’ve written all about the launch here, so I won’t repeat myself. I was way out of my comfort zone but having the support of so many friendly faces made it all OK, and I even managed to do a little talk, I’ll add the video above. I even managed without rescue remedy! I could not have done anything like this earlier this year. Thanks again to everyone who supported us. We still have books to sell, and I know I’m biased, but it really is a beautiful book, even if you don’t buy a copy every single share helps us to spread the word.
The weather took a turn for the worst on Tuesday night and the snow started, we had quite a heavy snowfall on Wednesday morning, but it didn’t hang around on the main roads and I got Jono to physio which is a necessity and especially when the weather is cold and damp.
It was our work Christmas party on Thursday and again I’ve written about that here. I was meant to be taking Jono to stay with Lucy and bringing Laurence to the party, but Roscommon was hit badly with snow and poor Laurence and Lucy were snowed in. I did miss him at the party but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
I spent yesterday doing absolutely nothing. It was great! I’ve felt like I’ve been chasing my tail in the last few weeks, so it was wonderful to just relax and take a breath. I have half-painted Christmas decorations that I need to finish, but I haven’t had the enthusiasm to paint recently. I’m sure I’ll get back to it at some point.
Wishing you all a lovely Sunday, thanks so much again to those of you who have bought the book, it really is very much appreciated. My heart is full and happy. Thanks as always for reading.
