With so many of us working remotely since the Covid-19 pandemic began, it can be a challenge to find a quiet place to work. Coffee shops are great, but you can’t have a zoom meeting in one, or rely on a fast internet connection, this is where the remote working hubs have become a necessity, and An Chroi in Tubbercurry is fantastic.

I went along to have a look at the Hub recently, as it’s been years since I was there. A huge amount of work has been done on the place and the distinctive red brick building is now bright and airy inside – and it’s wheelchair friendly too.

Tony was on the front desk and he was kind enough to show me around (he was photo shy though, so there isn’t a photo of him). An Chroi offers dedicated 500mb fibre broadband, cutting edge co-working & office spaces, digital boardroom, smart huddle rooms, innovation space and a large event space with virtual reality capability.

If you are using a hot desk and you have an online meeting, you can use one of the privacy booths. There’s also a kitchen with a microwave etc. so you don’t even have to leave the centre for lunch, if you don’t want to.

My absolute favourite part of the centre is the podcast and video content studio, this is the only facility of its kind in the North West. I really think a Tubbercurry based podcast would be a great idea, local businesses and community groups could take part and it could be a way to advertise events and offers.

You can find out more about the An Chroi Digital Hub on their website: https://anchroi.ie/ Thanks to Tony for showing me around.
Thank you Val for your kind words. We hoped you enjoyed your visit and the tour with Tony Hope to see you again soon
