I was thrilled to be invited to try out Fish and Bean as a celebration for my #sockies21 award. I’d been meaning to go for ages as I’ve been following their social media and it looks wonderful. I have to say it was something else.

Fish and Bean is the Sligo’s newest Seafood Café, located right beside the Wild Atlantic Way with stunning views. They serve fresh, locally sourced seafood, gorgeous cakes and wonderful coffee.

Head chef and owner Dave Mullan has a passion food and cooking. He’s also a really nice guy and he’s amazing at what he does.
The fish was absolutely gorgeous, the batter was made with White Hag Beer and was light and fluffy. The chips were thin and crispy and the tartar sauce was not the generic kind that I’ve so often had in other places, this one was home made and was delicious.
I love that the kids menu is a version of the adults menu, another unusual touch. You can see a sample menu here: https://fishandbean.ie/our-menus/
Dave was telling me that their Taco Thursday is really popular and I’ve heard great things about it.

Thanks so much to Dave for the fabulous food, I really appreciated this lovely gesture, and I will be back.
next time: a little detour to Rosses Point
p.s. and of course the coffee we missed this year and last year
sounds like a plan
