There are some things of interest I’ve noticed in Sligo recently so I thought I’d tell you about them in a post.
Sligo Walking Tours
Sligo Walking Tours are back with their Sligo Dark Tales Walk, this takes place every Saturday evening during the summer and it’s a fantastic way to hear about the dark history of Sligo. I went on the tour a couple of years ago and you can read my experience here. Booking is advised for all tours due to limited places being available. Two New Sligo Shops
Emi-Licious is a new ladies fashion store and it’s opened on Harmony Hill in Sligo town. You can find them on Facebook here.
Pulled are a screen printing and design service and they have opened above Cafe Victor, near the Riverside. You can find them on Instagram.
A Children’s Community Garden
I’ve just recently noticed this on Instagram and I think it’s a really lovely idea. Sligo Children’s Community Garden was started in 2020 and is a place where children and families can play, learn and grow. If you are interested in getting involved you can send them a DM on Instagram https://www.facebook.com/SligoChildrensCommunityGarden
The Sligo Show
The Sligo Show is a brilliant idea, it’s a weekly show live on Facebook. Hosted by Brendan Tierney, who is a natural at this, and produced by Pixel Productions, you can see interviews, news, entertainment, and more. The show is also on YouTube. Find out more on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thesligoshow
The Markets Are Back
It’s wonderful news that the markets are back, they are fantastic places to visit and find new products made in Sligo. Saturday: Achonry Farmers Market, Beltra Country Market, Rathcormac Market at Branley’s Yard, Sligo Farmers Market at the IT.
Sunday: Strandhill Peoples Market
A new Sligo Restaurant
Wishing Fish and Bean they very best of luck on their new fish restaurant in Rosses Point. They are so popular that they sold out the other day. Find them here: https://fishandbean.ie/
And finally…..

It’s great to see the restaurants, pubs, and cafes open for outdoor dining. I have to give a mention to Harrison’s Bar and Restaurant in Cliffony, who have done an amazing job. I saw the photos on Facebook and I think it’s fantastic, a big well done to them.

So there you have it, Sligo News Magnumlady Style.
