Bundoran Highlights for 2019

Bundoran is a buzzing, seaside town in Co. Donegal and well worth a visit for people of all ages. Here are some of the event highlights for 2019.

St Patrick’s Day parade – March 17th 3:30pm
The annual parade attracts well over 400 participants each year as well as up to 10,000 spectators to the seaside town. Starting at East End (Ballyshannon side) the parade will route up the Main Street and finish in the West End (Sligo side). The event will once again be broadcast on the Discover Bundoran Facebook page (www.facebook.com/discoverbundoran) with commentary from Bundoran Tourism Officer Shane Smyth.

Easter Egg Painting – April 20th 2pm – 4pm (Atlantic Apartotel)
This event is a popular one with families who get to spend some creative time together and win some chocolate eggs on the day. Polystyrene eggs and paints are provided. Admission is €10 for a family or group of 4) – more at www.discoverbundoran.com/easteregg

Sea Sessions Surf and Music Festival – June 21 st – 23 rd (Main Beach Car Park). This is year 11 of the popular music festival which already has announced its 3 headliners – Clean Bandit, Sigrid and Two Door Cinema Club. Many more acts will be announced for Ireland’s Biggest Beach Party! Tickets are on sale from Ticketmaster – more at www.seasessions.com

Bundoran Street Party – July 20th 2pm – 5pm (Main Street)
The big family event where the Main Street in Bundoran is literally shut down and bouncy castles erected on it for 3 hours of fun. There’ll be free face painting and street entertainment. Best of all – admission is free! More at

Bundoran Vintage & Classic Car Show – July 21st 12pm – 5pm (West End Car Park). The car show has now become a staple in the event calendar with up on 250 vintage and classic cars landing to enjoy the day. This free event is a must visit for any car enthusiast as they will get the chance to talk to the owners also. No admission but a donation is requested for the designated charities on the day. Bundoran’s Big Week by the Beach – August 14 th – 18 th (Various venues)
A brand new event for 2019, Big Week by the Beach will be a compilation of events from surfing to golf to music to historical and cultural – so there’s bound to be something for everyone! We’ll also have Daniel O’Donnell performing the same weekend! More at www.discoverbundoran.com/bigweek

Bia Bundoran Food Festival – September (Final dates TBC)
Another new event for 2019 whereby the food providers in town will promote and celebrate the great food offering that Bundoran has! Expect promotions, demonstrations, events and discounts in key eateries in town. More at www.discoverbundoran.com/bia

Pumpkin Carving and Pumpkin Parade – October 31st 3pm – 6pm (Atlantic Apartotel). A hugely popular event in the annual Bundoran calendar. Another chance for families to gather together and be creative whilst carving pumpkins. The event concludes with the annual pumpkin parade through Main Street to Bundoran Community Library for prizegiving. More at www.discoverbundoran.com/pumpkin

Annual Christmas Quiz – December 23 rd 9pm (Chasin Bull)
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas in Bundoran without the Christmas quiz! Hosted by Tiernan Brady with proceeds to St Vincent De Paul/Ozanam House this fun night gets everyone together who is home for Christmas – the best way to start the festive season!

Christmas Day Swim – December 25 th 12:15pm (Main Beach Bundoran)
More than 100 people ran into the Atlantic ocean last Christmas Day in Bundoran. A lot of them were raising money for St Vincent De Paul/Ozanam House. If you don’t believe us, check the video here!
