If you read the blog you’ll know I’ve been struggling a bit recently. I’ve had a few kind invitations to places but it’s taking me a while to get the energy to go. Recently I went to one of the places and I ended up in my idea of heaven.
It was such a pleasure to meet Martina and her wonderful animals. I would love to have the kind of house she has; animals running around the yard, tea made from herbs growing in her garden, cakes cooking in the oven and just so peaceful.
If you’ve ever ended up at a place where you’ve felt immediately at ease you’ll know exactly what I mean. It’s a rare feeling, especially these days but very magical when it happens. We took a walk along the lane chatting about the people who once lived in the now empty cottages. Martina has many stories and in fact has written a book about one of her neighbours who is sadly no longer with us now. You can read more about the book and a bit more of Martina’s story here.
Not only does Martina make wonderful cakes (that you can find at Drummartin Market on Saturday mornings), she’s also a very talented florist and runs classes that inspire people to create something special with nature. You can find out more about the classes here: https://www.facebook.com/natureisbestflorist.blogspot.ie/
Thank you Tina for such a lovely afternoon, for your hospitality and for inspiring me to take my camera out of it’s bag.
We were at Martinas place one day later than you and enjoyed it es much as you!!!
