Today Lucy and I went to The Grass Roof Cafe in Rossinver, Co. Leitrim for a wonderful lunch (more about that in another blog). On the way home we took a drive to Glencar Waterfall.
On the drive home I saw a man cycling a bike on Glencar Lake….yes you read right he was cycling on the water! Of course I had to stop the car and get a closer look! There were a group of people at the water’s edge, one man was flying a remote controlled plane and the others were watching the cycling man. Seemingly they are there most weekends and as I was chatting to them they asked if I wanted a spin on the water – I didn’t need to be asked twice!
I couldn’t stop laughing, the idea of cycling on water is just mad altogether! It felt very stable though and I really enjoyed it. The men were telling me this is the only one of it’s kind in Ireland. I think it would be great for tourists though.
So that was my Mother’s Day with a difference!
Very interesting! Glad you got to ride on it.
Me too,it was great fun
You looked like a pro cycling away on the water Val. What a memorable Mother’s Day for you!!
Ha ha, great fun. We built something like this when I was in the Scouts in my teens and we entered raft races with it. I had forgotten all about this until I saw you here. Incredible chance and opportunity. Lovely day đŸ™‚
Only you, Val, would come across a bloke cycling on water! LOVE it đŸ˜€
