A belated birthday blog

I’m finally catching up on old blog posts that I should have written but somehow never got around to it. Back in June it was Andy’s 50th birthday and also our 25th wedding anniversary. It was so strange because without us knowing we’d both gone shopping in the same shop! We both went to Lollypotz and got each other a chocolate bouquet!

Andy prefers dark chocolate so Lollypotz made the one on the right especially. My present from Andy was extra special. He bought me a beautiful ring and Lollypotz placed the ring box in the middle of the bouquet and colour co-ordinated it for him. Andy’s really not a shopper so he was delighted that they went to so much trouble, it really was a fantastic idea. Lollypotz deliver to the UK and Ireland so well worth visiting their website and checking out their lovely products.

Andy's cake

I threw a cake together for Andy – as you can tell! The figure based on him sort of melted onto the cake! The figures either side are meant to be the dogs!

We were lucky that we got one of the rare sunny days for our celebrations so we went to Bundoran for the day. I really like Bundoran, even when it’s raining there is plenty to do there, what with the cinema, amusements and bowling. We went bowling and walked along the beach followed by dinner at McGarrigles Restaurant.

We’d seen McGarrigles on the RTE show ‘At Your Service’ so decided they check it out. They had an early-bird three course meal for €20. There were so many options for us to choose from and it was all lovely. I should have written this blog before because I’ve forgotten what we all had! It was lovely though.

After another walk along the beach to walk off our dinner we took a slow drive home via Mullaghmore and Milk Harbour watching the sunset.

When we got home I gave Andy his cake. Puggly was very interested! The photo below just cracks me up!

So here’s to the next 25 years of marriage. 😀
