I know I’ve posted before about my snowy photo that went viral. Well the Sligo Champion did a brilliant article about it and about me π They said I was like a one-woman tourist board for Sligo. You can read the full article here.
I’m happy to highlight the beauty we have here in Sligo. By the way although the photo went viral I didn’t make any money from the photo hence the reason I was entering competitions in a bid to upgrade my camera to a DSLR. I didn’t win either of the competitions so if anyone out there is feeling generous or has a contact with a camera’s PR company please consider me. It will enable me to continue promoting Sligo through photography and I’d be forever grateful π
You deserve all this wonderful acclaim, accolades, attention, recognition, praise, commendations and kudos, Val. I’m so happy for you. I’ve told so many friends, neighbours and e-pals from all over the world that I chat with about both your blog and Sligo Secrets – many of them, because of your blog posts and your beautiful photos, have told me they now want to visit and/or move from wherever they are and live here. Sligo is a breathtaking part of Ireland, and I love living here.
Thanks for sharing your love of this beautiful county with not just us ‘locals,’ but with the whole country and yes, the whole world. Congratulations and well done. If the Irish Tourist Board had any sense, they’d hire you straight away as a freelance photographer or photo journalist.
Thanks June….yes that would be nice π
Congratulations! I hope you get a new camera so we can see even more of your gorgeous photos. X
Thanks Lyn…maybe one day π
Such a hauntingly beautiful image. Congratulations on the media coverage too. Even if there isn’t any payment involved it’s still great to get the recognition!P
Thank you. Yes it was great to get the recognition.
Just found your blog by accident today (actually, I am planning a trip to France and came across your post on Trip Advisor). As an American with many relatives in County Sligo (Ballymote) I love your articles and photos. Keep up the good work. LOVE the “snowy” picture!!
Frank
Thank you Frank
