I don’t know what you call the day after St. Stephen’s Day (Boxing Day) so Happy Friday. I hope you are all enjoying the festive season and for those of you back to normality I hope all goes well for you. We had a lovely couple of days, mainly eating and watching tv and my backside kind of feels like it’s been welded to the sofa, although I have been out and about walking Rocket-dog. The photo below was taken on one of our walks.
I also had to venture out yesterday for home heating oil because we ran out. I blame myself because I was bitching about people running out of things so karma decided to bite me on the arse 😉 Luckily for me there were petrol stations open which sell oil. It wasn’t all bad because yesterday morning was beautiful but it was the calm before the storm, at around 4pm the gales started and are still blowing as I type. We haven’t had it too bad in Sligo but I heard of planes having to be diverted from Cork airport to Shannon and ferries not sailing.
Above is Ballisodare Bay taken on St. Stephen’s Day. Below is the view over Sligo from Gallows Hill also taken yesterday morning so the oil run was worth it 🙂
I don’t know about you but I think the Christmas tv has been awful this year. Luckily the kids got me Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of the War of the Worlds DVD for Christmas and we’ve watched it twice already! They also got me a ticketmaster voucher so I’m going to see the live show in November, I’m really looking forward to that 😀 Anyway the tv was so bad last night that Andy was going through the channels on Sky and found this:
This is a Christmas pudding that was on tv for an hour!!! Why?? Is this what we pay our Sky subscription for? Mind you I think I’d rather watch this than an hour of Eastenders!!

Compared to what happened in Sligo, our time here passed rather uneventful.
Running out of oil can happen, seeing a Christmas pudding for an hour is also possible as it seems. 😉

What? No Cliff Richard specials? Ah, but we used to get Eastenders on PBS and I rather enjoyed them even though they were 3 or 4 years old by then. I must have an English gene in me somewhere or maybe it has something to do with tribes. Anyway it’s nice to view Sligo and hear the news as my friend, June, has lived there for ages and I really want to visit some day.
