Today was a very proud day for me. I was invited to the launch of the Sligo Cancer Support Centre. They launched their website today as well and I was delighted to have my photos used on there.
The photo above was one of the ones used. This was taken in Ballymote.
Today was the first time I’ve ever been in the centre and the first thing that struck me was the warmth and friendliness of the people. I was made to feel so welcome and everyone had time to talk even though it was a very busy day for them.
The centre itself is beautiful. It’s located on Wine Street in the heart of Sligo. It’s on a busy street but you would never think it when you are inside the centre. It’s a haven of peace and tranquility, a very restful place.
All the speakers at the launch spoke from the heart. They were so inspiring and uplifting. I’d like to wish everyone involved continued success for their wonderful service. If you would like to donate you can do so here.

What a worthwhile project!
It really is Cindy. Thanks for your comment 🙂
Val, lovely post. I really love the shot of the ‘path’ from Ballymote. Well done and keep it up! D
Thanks David 🙂
Hi Val
Your photos are lovely and the centre looks like a beautiful place. Do I remember that your photos were used for a book, or have I dreamed that?
Thanks Stella, yes I did have a photo in a book for the centre 🙂 It’s nice to be able to help.
