Firstly don’t look too closely because my face needs ironing! 😉 I headed over to Boyle in Co. Roscommon this morning where I had read on Real Boyle that the filming of Chris O’Dowd’s sitcom ‘Moone Boy’ was taking place.
First of all I got to meet Steve Coogan who is also in the sitcom. He was very nice. During a short break Chris came over to say hello to the few onlookers that were there. He is such a nice man, no airs and graces on him at all. I have to say the people in Boyle are such a friendly bunch of people. I had a good chat with a few of them and especially with Sean who is Chris’s dad. He is a great photographer and takes some brilliant shots.
I thought it was really interesting seeing the show being filmed. I just saw a short scene filmed and they had to keep repeating it over again a few times. There are 6 big trucks full of equipment in the car park of the Royal Hotel including a catering truck.
Boyle is a lovely town and it’s nice to see the spotlight on the place and hopefully it will encourage tourists to come and visit.
I did a short bit of filming, you can’t really see too much because I didn’t want to get in the way.
