We had a stormy day today, not as bad as we were expecting but very blustery. I went down to Strandhill after I dropped Jono at his course. I was kind of hoping the waves might be better but it wasn’t to be. The sand was blowing off the dunes though. I had a nice windswept walk along the sea front followed by a warm up at Shells Cafe.
It’s lovely and cosy in there and it was very busy but the service was fast and friendly.
I had a goats cheese sandwich (I really think one of these days I’ll turn into goats cheese!) The bread was lovely, really thick and there was cranberry jelly and nuts with it…..you wouldn’t think it would work but it did.
After lunch I had a drive around and ended up in Coney Island, it was too dull for any decent photos so I’ll go back again another day. I ended up looking at Dolly’s Cottage, it’s such a pretty little place.

that is gorgeous!! strandhill looks lovely in a storm! 🙂 Looks like the heavens shining down. great shot.
Thanks Heather 🙂
That first photo is really dramatic. Very nice!
Thanks Fiona 🙂
First photo is fantastic. Sligo got some fame mentioned in the BBC weather commentary as the place the wind would be strongest for a while. Hope everything is okay across there.
