Dublin – September, 2011

If you read my blog last week you’ll see I cancelled The Gresham Hotel (due to being ripped off) and booked Wynn’s Hotel instead. The rooms are pretty basic and fairly small (and our one smelt of stale smoke) but the staff were so friendly and helpful. The bedroom carpet wasn’t the cleanest either.

Also the room was ready when we arrived at 2pm and quite often with other hotels we’ve had to wait sometimes up to 4 hours after the set check in time for the room to be ready. The location of the hotel was good, really central to everything.

This poor lady was the view from our bedroom window, it kind of puts things into perspective. There are so many people begging in Dublin, it’s very sad. It made me feel sad that we were in a hotel and these poor people are out there 😦

Above was my breakfast that I had in the hotel. All the cereal, bread, fruit and juice you help yourself too but there was also a hot food menu with a great selection. I had crumpets, goats cheese and raspberry compote. In hindsight it wasn’t the best idea ahead of a three-hour train journey but at the time it was lovely. There were also kippers, Irish breakfast, porridge and other goodies to order.

Lucy went for boiled eggs and Jono had a full Irish breakfast….but I couldn’t lean across the table to take a photo of his πŸ˜‰

Oh the day of the concert we had lunch at TGI Fridays. We were invited back after our experience last time (you might remember Jonos burnt hot dog). Anyway this time was much nicer….be prepared for more food photos πŸ˜‰

Jono had sesame Jack chicken strips for a starter and then had chicken fingers for a main course.

I had steak for a change because I don’t usually like steak but this one was lovely.

Then for dessert I had chocolate brownie which was lovely….but I ate far too much.

Lucy had pasta for her main course and caramel apple pie for her dessert (of course I had to try a bit!)

The next photo is the last one….sorry if I’ve made you feel hungry.
