Pigeon Dior

Well it’s been a bit of an odd week. The photo above was taken in a chemist in Sligo. The pigeon was sheltering from the storm (either that or he was on work experience). We did try to ask for some make up advice but he wasn’t very helpful πŸ˜‰

We spent most of last week and the beginning of this week waiting for Sky to come and install a dish and box. The first excuse we had was it was raining so they couldn’t come out….this is Ireland you think they’d be used to rain.
Then we heard that the van had broken down. Then the installer was in hospital. The final excuse was that the installer wasn’t coming from Mayo to do one job. Bearing in mind it was ordered in Sligo. I got so fed up I told the guy in the shop if I had a tall enough ladder I would install in myself…..and then lo and behold the Sky man arrived….a miracle πŸ™‚

Also this week a bottle of wine exploded in the fridge (oh what a waste). I was tempted to lick the fridge but I thought better of it. I’ve never had that happen before so I don’t know what caused it.

Yesterday we had a bad storm. It was thought the winds reached 140 kmph. I was driving back from town and there were bins and signs in the road, Bertie was being blown from side to side, I was relieved to make it home in one piece. In the evening I was putting the bin in the shed to stop it blowing away and a gust of wind made the shed door wallop me on the backside…..it bloody hurt!

There is great excitement in Sligo this week as Sligo Rovers are playing in the FAI cup final on Sunday. A lot of the shops have done their windows up. I especially like Unique Gifts in the Quayside shopping centre who have the Irish version of Paul the octopus (before he died I presume), anyway he predicts that Sligo is going to win. So good luck to them.
