Mass and moving

Wild garlic, originally uploaded by magnum_lady (moving).

Firstly this might be my last blog for a while, we are hoping to get the keys to the new house tomorrow and then it will be all systems go. My back is killing me, I’ve been scrubbing bathrooms and cookers today and getting high on bleach!….I wonder if we’ll ever get sorted! The new house has no phone or internet for a while so if I’m quiet that’s why. Hopefully we won’t be without internet for too long, as I might turn into Jack Nicholson in The Shining…..’Here’s Valley’.

Anyway todays pic is wild garlic, it has no relevance to anything but I think it looks nice, stinks to high heaven though. There’s loads of it down by the river.

This evening was Dad’s months mind mass. I don’t know what it means, but it’s part of the system here. I took mum and her neighbour to the church. Mum decided to act out the scene in ‘Planes, Trains and Automobiles’ where you’re man is flying backwards and forwards in the car seat. She went so far back she nearly landed on her neighbours lap! Anyway the mass went OK, as usual I was the only heathen in the church. The only off putting thing was that there was water running from somewhere and it wasn’t doing my bladder any good. Luckily the mass isn’t as long as it used to be…..phew.

  1. Good luck with the move, don’t forget if you get itchy for the internet, your local library might have a publicly accessible machine. I love the picture of the wild garlic and I love garlic in food, but the heady smell of wild garlic gives me quite severe headaches for some unkown reason.

I’ve only been to one mass and that was for a funeral and it was about an hour and a quarter long – very pleasant but bum-numbingly long!

Don’t be long getting back to us!

  2. oh, that’s sad. Well, nice for you that you’re moving. You came to mine and I never came back (how rude!) I think it was over Easter or something. Anyway, I’m glad I did because this looks a nice place. Good luck with the (now done?) move. Great garlic, can all but smell it from here.
