If you’re looking for a magical experience this Christmas, you won’t want to miss Santa’s Movigloo at the Art Deco in Ballymote. This wonderful event is brought to you by the team at the Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo, and I was delighted to go along for a sneak peek!
As soon as I walked into the Art Deco, I was transported back in time to the golden age of cinema. The lights were dimmed, the atmosphere was cosy, and as the fog cleared, I spotted Santa sitting on the stage in front of a beautiful Christmas tree. At the actual event, children will get to meet Santa in his glowing holiday igloo!
It was a joy to see the magic on the children’s faces during the preview. They loved chatting with the elf, singing Christmas songs, and of course having a proper talk with Santa. It was genuinely heartwarming to be part of it.
Movigloo is so much more than a visit to Santa – it’s two hours of music, magic, and a movie. No more standing out in the cold waiting for Santa to appear, or driving for miles while listening to the dulcet tones of “Are we there yet?”
This is a fun, stress-free experience for the whole family, and your ticket includes:

I love the idea of the gift of creativity from Santa. So often I’ve found Santa gifts to be quite generic and often just cast aside, but the Hawk’s Well team have thought about that, and each child will get the chance to experience something wonderful including; a music class, a sports class, or a drama class. Santa has teamed up with the Music Generation Sligo, Sligo Sports & Recreation Partnership, and Infinity Stage School to give each child an experience that they will never forget. This could be the start of something wonderful and unleash a lifelong passion in the children.

The theatre is just a short walk from Ballymote Train Station, and with free travel for 5-8-year-olds, you can make the day even more special with a train trip from Sligo Town, Boyle, Carrick-on-Shannon, or further afield.
