It’s back to earth with a bang today after leaving my comfortable bubble of the theatre world. I was part of Sligo Acts at the Hawk’s Well Theatre. Basically around 40 members of the public signed up to be part of a stage show.
There’s been a lot of doom and gloom around lately, I know I’m one of the culprits! So I thought I’d share some of the things I’ve liked this week – and don’t worry cake and chips don’t make an appearance because you all know how I feel about them!
I went along to the Hawk’s Well Theatre yesterday for the introduction to Sligo Acts. This is a great new project by the theatre to give members of a public a chance to appear on stage. It’s open to all so there were people who had acting experience and people who were beginners.
The Bealtaine Festival takes place for the month of May, it’s Ireland’s national celebration of the arts and creativity as we age. So far for the festival I’ve taken photos, I’ve attended acting workshops and a lot more…..
The days are dull, the nights are long, I think we could all do with something to look forward to so here are some suggestions.
Halloween, which actually originated in Ireland (more about that later in another blog), also coincides with the mid-term break here in Ireland so I’ve decided to blog about some things of interest happening in Sligo.
