It’s been a while since I’ve written a Sunday Thoughts blog post. I have a lot to say, but for some reason I don’t feel like saying it – if you get what I mean. The sun is shining, but my walk was cut short by ‘not our cat’ following me.
We have had a cat that has come to visit for about a year now, she’s like a timeshare cat, and to be honest that suits me just fine. I vowed not to get another pet after we lost the dogs, my heart was shattered, and to be honest it still is, and I don’t think I could go through the heartbreak again. So, ‘Shimmy’ the cat, comes and goes, I don’t know where it really lives, but I’m happy for it to visit.
We also have acquired two giant rabbits, they are also timeshares, and come and go as they please. They live next-door, but seem to think the grass is greener on the other side! If I had a euro for every time someone called to the door to tell me that my rabbits are out, I’d have about a fiver!
The weather has been so mild, it was 15 degrees last week, that’s madness in November, and I really hope we aren’t going to get a bad winter. The scaremongering has already begun on some of the social media weather channels. I only look at one now, and that’s Carlow Weather, because he tells it like it is, and there’s no drama.
I had a lovely visit to Ballina last week, I was there for work, to meet Shore Pony Therapy Farm, and find out about the work they do with Equine Therapy and Social Farming. You can watch the interview here:
Emer who runs the farm was so lovely and welcoming, and I found the same with all the places I visited in Ballina. I was delighted to be handed two pastries from Baker51, because I’d mentioned them before. I was blown away, things like that don’t happen very often, and I didn’t know that they even knew me. It was just so kind.
I started an art class. I haven’t been able to paint since my brother-in-law passed away last year. It’s like something has been stuck, so I signed up for an art class with Zara O’Connor, and I’m really enjoying it. Hopefully it’ll give me my painting mojo back again.
When I was in Sligo town this week I bumped into a couple of blog readers, it’s always so lovely to meet people who enjoy the blog. One lady said I’m costing her a fortune because she tries out the food places I’ve written about. It costs me a fortune trying them too, but there’s a great appetite for food news (pun intended).
I went to the tip (rock and roll), to get rid of some old electrical items that didn’t work. It’s quite therapeutic getting rid of things, although my arm isn’t the best today, some of the things were heavy and it was hard lifting them into the crates. Anyway, it’s done now, and it’s a good excuse not to do anything today.
I hope you all have a lovely week, and thanks for reading.
