I put a call out on my social media channels for Halloween and mid-term events in Sligo, Leitrim, Bundoran and Roscommon. I’ve also added some events I saw in Ballina and Enniskillen. Happy reading.

Sligo
Easkey Scarecrow Festival returns from October 18th to the 31st 2025! Easkey village will once again come alive with a wild and wonderful array of scarecrows. This year they have 4 categories, Individual, Family, Community Group and School to choose from and we are welcoming all the community to get involved. Cash prizes for the best scarecrows. 27th October. Halloween Haunting at the ATU Sligo The event is indoors through the dark corridors of ATU Sligo. There will be over 130 zombies and creatures deployed to torment you and your family. Monday 27th October. 3pm – 6pm. Family Fun event at the Benwiskin Centre, Ballintrillick, North Sligo. Free event. Fancy dress, games, art activities, tea, coffee and treats.

Tuesday 28th – Friday 31st October, The ImagiNation mini role play world (inside Henry Lyons Department Store, Sligo) will have just a sprinkle of spooky fun, think pumpkins, bats, cobwebs and friendly Halloween touches. It’s all designed with toddlers and young children in mind, so it’s playful and not scary. Costumes are welcome but optional.
They will also have a free Halloween photo backdrop just outside The ImagiNation during that week, so families can enjoy a seasonal snap even if they’re not booked into a play session.
75 minute play sessions: 10.30am & 3.00pm (grown ups to stay and supervise)

30th October The Sligo Folk Park is delighted to announce the the Scare in the Park is back in 2025. Call into the Sligo Folk Park on Thursday 30th of October for a scarily good time.

Samhain at the Organic Centre 12-4pm
Monday Oct 27th. The Organic Centre’s Halloween trail will be in operation once again. Get your map at the shop and find the spooky cats in the grounds of the centre and a few other eery surprises! Get your prize when you’ve found them. *
There will be plenty of entertainment including Samhain themed folklore with the inspirational Jim Ledwith of the mummers foundation alongside the talented craftswoman Steffi Otto from ‘Heritage Crafts Alive’. Meet the mystical white mare and explore the heritage mummers straw costumes.
Be entertained by music from the Clearys and Mary T and dance from Siobhan Butler. (Banog Irish Dance)
There will be sustainable craft from Steve and Seb for the family with Samhain food, colcannon and barm brack and treats from Lilly Conlon, formally of Caife Bia Slaine.

Ballaghaderreen Splash Pool Halloween Swim will take place daily over mid term, for five days. The age category is for 3 years + and please note all beginners require an adult in the water with them. Bundoran

Bundoran Halloween Spooktacular at the Atlantic Apartotel, 30th October, 2025. The family-friendly event will feature a photobooth, a kids’ show with Orson Starett, a fancy dress catwalk for all the family, and a colouring competition. As usual, the pumpkin parade will take place at dusk along Main Street, concluding at Bundoran Community Library, where prizes will be awarded for the best pumpkins and fancy dress costumes.
