Things to do on Christmas Day in Sligo

I know that Christmas Day isn’t the same for everyone, some people might be alone and want company. I’ve spotted a few things of interest online, so I thought I’d add them to a blog post.

Sligo Parkrun is on Christmas morning. Briefing at 9:20, starts at 9:30am sharp. Bring the kids, the grandparents, the dog (on a short lead) work up your appetite and get some fresh air. Support The Neurology Support Centre and SHOUT on Chistmas morning, with a fresh dip at Streedagh beach.10am. All welcome.

For those that may be alone or missing their loved ones on Christmas day, Serious Business will have a gathering in the store from 12pm-6pm pm Christmas day. Some nibbles, boardgames and festivities. Unit 2 Millbrook House, JFK Parade F91YNC5. Facebook page.

Christmas Day Swim Mullaghmore Harbour 12 noon sharp. Cash bucket collection in aid of North West Hospice at the event.

Christmas Splash at Rosses Point, be there for 12pm on Christmas Day. All funds raised are in aid of Sligo Cancer Support Centre. Facebook page.

Lough Arrow Christmas Day Swim in aid of North West Hospice Sligo. If you fancy a dip on Christmas Day, the swim will take place, as always, at 1pm Sharp at Flynn’s Pier, Registration open at 12.30pm. For those of you that don’t want to brave the cold, there will be the usual refreshments, raffle and music to keep you entertained while you cheer on the swimmers and catch up with family, friends and neighbours.
