All Things Natural – A Shop with a Difference in Sligo

All Things Natural is Sligo’s only Zero Waste Refill Shop and Eco Store. Edel, who owns the shop, has always been passionate about helping the environment and was using eco friendly products in her home, when having her own business was only a dream. Edel seized an opportunity to sell Lillys Eco Clean products at the local markets and that’s where her business started in 2019.

The business grew and Edel had such support from the people of Sligo, that in 2021 she moved from the markets and opened her shop All Things Natural in Market Cross. Stocking a wide range of zero waste products, planet friendly brands, and a curated selection of gifts. In 2023 All Things Natural moved to a larger premises in the Wine Street Carpark, the shop stocks such a wide variety of products and it’s well worth a visit. In the past 68 months All Things Natural have prevented 57,548 500ml plastic bottles from going into circulation! That’s a huge achievement, so congratulations to Edel and her customers.

The moment you walk into All Things Natural you will feel a sense of calm, it’s a shopping experience like no other. You can take your time and browse at your leisure, and best of all you know that you are helping the planet and supporting Irish businesses.

I love that you can refill as much or as little as you like, what a great idea for someone who might be travelling to fill up some travel sized bottles with body and hair products. There’s no problem if you don’t have any containers as the shop has a range of bottles that you can use. The shop also stocks shampoo bars and they even think of your furry friends with their dog shampoo bar.

There’s a new section with a wide range of skincare, some of it is produced in Ireland, and it’s all kind to the planet as well as to your skin, with no nasty chemicals added. It’s wonderful that you can choose to refill your skincare jars with UpCircle. UpCircle started with the idea of giving used coffee grounds a new lease of life, they’ve now transformed more than 450 tonnes of it into their sustainable skincare.

As well as the refillable UpCircle skincare. you can also buy choose from other brands including Dr Organics and Sukin, and Irish made products: Karuna Essentials, The Aromatic Pharmacy, Love of Suds and Janni Bars.

The same goes for the cleaning and laundry products – they are all chemical free, so they aren’t harmful to you or your family. You will find well known products such as Lillys, Ecover, Bio D, Miniml, as well as the following products that refillable to take a much or as little as you wish: Citric Acid, Bicarbonate of Soda, Percarbonate Soda, Soap Flakes, Crystal Soda and more.

I love the range of holistic and spiritual items; the selection of incense, the essential oils and the gorgeous crystals, there’s so much choice in All Things Natural, and there really is something for everyone. If you are looking for a special gift you can tell Edel your budget and she can make up a hamper or gift pack to suit, it’s a brilliant idea for the people out there who might struggle with shopping.

Now let me tell you about my favourite part of the shop – the food section (of course!) Normally you might think of a refill shop as stocking all the things that are good for you such as seeds and grains, cereals and beans, and All Things Natural do stock those, plus a wide variety of herbs and spices, pasta and rice, but they also stock sweets!

They have vegan and gluten-free jellies – which is a wonderful idea, I know a lot of my blog readers are always on the lookout for vegan and gluten-free products. They also sell vegan fudge too – which is next on my list to buy.

The range of tea is amazing too. You can choose from Jasmine, Rooibos, Spearmint, Earl Gray, Cupan Tae, King Monkey, Red Dragon, Masala Chai, Beautiful Woman, Body & Soul, Chamomile and more. They are available in boxes and tins, or loose so if you aren’t sure what flavour you’d like you can just buy a small amount to try it.

The great thing about having a refill shop you can just buy as little or as much as you need, so there’s no wastage. It’s better for your pocket and the environment. It’s also very handy for people with a smaller household, who might not need big packs of food.

All Things Natural have thought of everything, there’s even a gorgeous baby section with gift hampers, bamboo plates and cups, colourful bibs, Earth Friendly Baby products and more.
