My Interview with Marleen from Angel and Gift World in Sligo

I’ve known Marleen for such a long time, and I was delighted to chat to her on the podcast, I call it an interview, but it’s more of a chat. Marleen’s passion for her business (I think in her case it’s a vocation), shines through when you meet her. I hope you enjoy listening to the podcast as much as I enjoyed talking to Marleen. For those of you who don’t know, Marleen runs Angel and Gift World, on Hyde Bridge in Sligo – look for the pink shop. Marleen followed a dream and left a fast paced life in Dublin 15 years ago, after she visited the shop in Sligo, and the rest is history.

The shop is a treasure trove of beautiful things, including angels, crystals, fairies, incense, rosary beads, unicorns, dragons, and so much more. It’s a space that’s incredibly calming, especially upstairs, where the classes and workshops take place.

Marleen also teaches Reiki, and she speaks more about that on our chat, and she talks about the power of crystals, and what they can do for people. We also talk about little signs that can happen after loved ones pass away, I tell the story of what happened when my dad died. Listen here.

Angel and Gift World also sell a wide range of personalised gifts, most of which can be created in just an hour. I absolutely love the personalised slates, which are suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. I’d love to get my much-missed Puggly and Rocket put on one for their memorial garden.

Marleen kindly invited me to take a crystal that I was drawn to, as we spoke about this on the podcast. I love purple anyway, and I chose the one above. It reminds me that I might be a little bit damaged but I’m still doing OK. The mark reminds me of a bird.
