I’ve noticed some things of interest open, or opening in County Sligo, so I thought I’d tell you all about them in a blog post. I haven’t tried any of them out yet, so I can’t tell you what they are like, but let me know if you’ve tried them.
The Health Bar has opened in The Canopy, Sligo, offering a menu of salads, smoothies, acai bowls, and healthy snacks. Operated by Sligo native Calvin Dunbar, The Health Bar is centrally located in the mall. It’s always been very busy when I’ve been in and it’s great to see it doing so well. Find them on Facebook.
‘Anois’ Coffee Shop has opened in Cliffoney. I can’t find any social media pages for them, but they are on the right as you are heading from Sligo to Bundoran. If someone from the coffee shop wants to drop me a message, I’ll add the opening times. (valrobus@gmail.com)
Sligo’s newest night time cafe, Oak Moon Cafe is opening today (Thursday 8th August) from 4pm at the Yeats Building. You can expect alcohol-free refreshments, savoury and sweet snacks, board games and cards, bring and borrow books, indoor and outdoor seating (dog friendly), and more. Find them on Instagram.
The Pod will be opening soon. “Home of Sligo’s finest homemade coffee & stylish deli delights!
Wraps, bagels, sandwiches, & more. A Geometry of taste. Not your ordinary deli.” It’s on Wine Street, at the entrance to The Quayside. Find them on Instagram.
The Harbour Cafe in Mullaghmore opened at the end of June. They are in the beautiful, colourful building that was Eithna’s by the Sea. Find them on Facebook.
The Doorly Park Gate is a new Community Social Enterprise that opened yesterday in Sligo town. It’s a tourist information point and is also serving coffee.
