I have mentioned that I’m working on a new project, and it’s been one of my dreams for a long time, I think the time has come to tell you all about it.
I’ve always wanted to bring out a book of my photography, I never print any of my photos and there’s something very special about seeing an image in print. I didn’t have the confidence to do it on my own, so I am delighted to have teamed up with Louise G. Cole, an award-winning poet based in Roscommon.
The book will be a combination of some of my photos and some of Louise’s poetry, and I’m very excited to be working on this. It’s a dream to work with Louise, we’ve been on the same page (pun intended) since day one, and I think the book will be something very special.
Louise has won so many awards, including the Hennessy Literary Award for Emerging Poetry in 2018, when she had a Dublin pub re-named in her honour. You can read all about her on her website: https://louisegcolewriter.com/about-louise-g-cole-writer/
I’m honoured to be working with such a talented writer and I think the book will be something very special. Louise is wonderful at organising things and she is so methodical; she understands what in my head and can put it into words where I would struggle.
Another very interesting connection is that Louise is Laurence’s mum. Laurence is my daughter Lucy’s fiancé, so we are the future mothers-in-law!
You will start to see mentions of our work on the book on my social media channels, so keep a look out. We hope to publish it later this year.
