St. Patrick’s Day is on Sunday, March 17th, and there are parades taking place in seven locations in County Sligo. All the times are below:
The Sligo town St. Patrick’s Day Parade starts at 12 noon
Grange parade 2pm
“Two Village” St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be on SUNDAY 17th March starting at: 1pm in Enniscrone then moving-on to Easkey for a 3pm start
3.30pm Ballymote
4.15pm Gurteen
4.30pm Aclare
Other events:
Kick off this years St. Patrick’s Day with a dawn hike with Northwest Adventure Tours. Sligo St. Patrick’s Day Festival have a number of events taking place over the weekend. More details below, and check out their Facebook page for up to date information.

There will be music in Queen Maeve Square (formerly Stephen Street Carpark). King Kong Company are the headline act on the 16th of March, Jenny Greene is the headliner on the 17th.

There’s a free event in the Avalon Centre after the parade. All welcome.
The world premiere of ‘The North West Suite,’ a unique collaboration between the Ceol na nOg Traditional Orchestra and the Sligo Academy of Music Sinfonietta will take place on St Patrick’s Day at 2:30 pm, immediately following the parade, in Queen Maeve Square.

The Annual Connacht Battle for the Paddle 2024 is on in Ballina, Co. Mayo and Enniscrone Co. Sligo. The Distance Race is part of the Irish Winter Race Series and will take place on the Saturday 16th March morning riders briefing 9.30 am race start 10am at The Quay Ballina Co Mayo. Expression session style Sup surf event on Enniscrone Beach from 9am Sunday 17th March. More details here.
Easkey Community Games are hosting a run on St. Patrick’s Day. More details below:
