It’s the first Sunday in March, and the month certainly came in like a lion, as most of Ireland woke up to snow on Friday. Some places were badly hit, I saw images of lorries struggling to get uphill, and schools were closed in some areas. It wasn’t too bad here, and the snow just lasted for the day, but it has been bitterly cold, and I felt very bad for the stallholders in Achonry Farmers Market yesterday. The warmth of their smiles and the wonderful atmosphere made up for the sideways rain and the cold day.

On Thursday I was walking around Doorly Park and watching the sunrise. What a difference 24 hours can make! I love it there, it’s so close to the shops, and I enjoyed my walk before I braved the supermarket. I don’t think the swans were too impressed with me being there though.

A lot of people have commented about my blog post mentioning my job, and difference it made to my life. You can read more about it on my last Sunday Thoughts post. It got me thinking, some of us might stay in a place or a situation because it’s what we are used to, not necessarily because we are happy there. There really is a fear of the unknown, and at times like that a list of pros and cons can be useful to help you make a decision. You’ll never know if things might be better if you don’t try though.
There has been quite a lot going on recently, and I’ve found my little boxes method really helpful. Since I wrote about this in 2020, I’ve since found out that it is a thing, and it’s called compartmentalising. I’ve just read more about it on this website, and it seems that there are positives and negatives, but I have to say it works for me.

I was delighted to be asked to take part in The Voices of Boyle Podcast. Although I don’t live in Boyle, I do visit a lot and I love the town and the people. You can hear all about my ideas for the future, including wanting to bring out a book. I also talk about my struggles with mental health, my love of art and photography, The Hands of Sligo, and so much more. Thanks so much to Carlo to inviting me along, and for the photo above. Listen back here.
Thanks, as always for reading, wishing you all a good week ahead.
