I had a lovely day today, I booked a muscle soak bath in the Ocean Sands Hotel in Enniscrone. I love the spa, the staff are very friendly and welcoming, and I always feel at ease there.

I was early (as usual), and the hotel coffee shop wasn’t open, but Emily on reception kindly gave me a coffee, and I sat beside the fire, looking at the lovely dogs who were on their holidays. The Ocean Sands is dog friendly, so it’s worth keeping in mind if you want to bring your four-legged friends for a break.

Enniscrone is such a lovely place, miles of sandy beach for you to walk along, great for surfing, a golf course that overlooks the Wild Atlantic Way and really friendly people. It’s also a great base if you want to explore Sligo and North Mayo.

My bath was lovely, and very relaxing. The perfect way to unwind, you can also enjoy the thermal suite – there is a hot tub and a sauna, photo at the top of the page.

On the way home I stopped in Easkey, any excuse to visit Pudding Row! Their brownies have to be tasted to be believed, they are gorgeous.

It was a lovely way to spend our first St. Brigid’s Bank Holiday, and I feel refreshed and ready to face the week.
