It seems like we are promised snow every week during the winter. I’d actually got to the point where I didn’t believe the reports. They were right on this occasion, and we woke up on Wednesday morning to a winter wonderland yesterday.

It snowed steadily during the day, and it was fairly deep (for Sligo) on Wednesday night and Thursday. They just put grit down on the main roads, so the other roads were in a pretty bad way with snow and ice. We are on a hill and we could see cars struggling to get up it.

Luckily I didn’t have to go out anywhere, I did learn to drive in the snow, and I don’t really mind it, but I don’t like it at all when there is ice around. It’s nice to stay close to home and take some photos though.

I was delighted to have two of my videos shown on Virgin Media News too, it was great to see them on TV.

It’s also been lovely to see the birds in the garden, and I’ve been making sure they have had enough to eat.

On Friday the snow turned to ice and the roads and pavements here were very slippery. I prefer the snow to ice, at least I can walk out in the snow, I’d be too worried on the ice in case I fall and do myself a damage.

Today, Saturday, you’d never think there was ever snow or ice! It’s now a mild 9 degrees and I even had a coffee beside the sea! It’s amazing the difference 12 hours can make. We now have a storm promised, and an Orange weather warning for wind and rain for tomorrow as Storm Isha is set to hit Ireland. Hopefully it won’t be as bad as expected.
I hope you like the photos, and that you are all keeping well.
