Breakfast at Hooked, Sligo

I was delighted to be invited along to visit Hooked in Sligo recently. Hooked is one of my favourite places in Sligo town. For me, eating out isn’t just about the food (although of course it’s important), but it’s about the whole experience. I love to see a place with the ‘wow’ factor, and Hooked has that for sure.

There is something to see everywhere you look, including a boat hanging from the ceiling – which is perfect considering that Hooked is right beside the river. It’s even more quirky with the Halloween decorations up – and the cakes look amazing. On my visit this time I got to sit in the Father Jack Snug, it’s so cool, and perfect for catch ups.

I had a hot chocolate, which was delicious and the French Brioche Toast – which was unreal. I’m a bit particular about French toast, in some places it can be a bit soggy, but this was perfect. I’m actually hungry now just thinking about it. It was topped by golden syrup, fresh berries, and chantilly cream.

On previous visits I’ve had the pancakes and the fish and chips (not both at the same time), they were wonderful too.

If you don’t feel comfortable eating inside, there’s a lovely outdoor area (and it’s undercover – so no worries about the weather).

I’d really recommend a visit to Hooked, if you are in or near Sligo. Thanks to Anthony for inviting me along, it’s very much appreciated. You can find Hooked online here: https://hookedsligo.ie/
