A visit to Ireland’s first organic drive-thru

Honestly Kitchen has been on my list to visit since it opened in December and I finally got there a couple of weeks ago. It’s in Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim, in the former KFC building and it’s a fantastic idea.

The drive-thru organic restaurant is the brainchild of Liam and Justina Gavin of Drumanilra Organic Farm in Co. Roscommon. Visitors to Boyle will remember their lovely farm shop and cafe in the town. Honestly Kitchen will cater for what the Gavins’ refer to as “ethical carnivores” as well as vegan and vegetarian diets.

The restaurant is bright and airy and the service is fast and friendly. I ordered the pancakes and a hot chocolate and both were delicious. I love the idea of the farm shop there too, there’s a great range of products and variety.

Honestly Kitchen is  Open 7 days a week 9.30am – 7pm. Drive thru open 9.30am – 7pm Monday to Wednesday and 9.30am -9pm Thursday to Sunday. You can find their website here: https://honestlykitchen.ie/

Next time I’m going to have something savoury, I’ve seen some amazing looking dishes, so I’m looking forward to trying them out, and trying the drive-thru too.

This is not a sponsored post and I paid for my meal.
