Sunday Thoughts

Here we are again, another Sunday and fairly motoring through the year. It’s been a busy couple of weeks but I like being busy. I’ve produced some local gift guides which you can see on the blog, and I’m working on a Roscommon one – which is going to be lovely. It’s great discovering new places and products, so I’m looking forward to telling you about them.

I hosted a #shopsligo day on Friday. It was a day to tell people about some of our Sligo shops, businesses, cafes, etc. It started off really well and was trending on twitter briefly, it went very quiet after that. I think hosting a day on Black Friday wasn’t the best idea. Anyway I tried it and I’m grateful to the people who joined in. I think a day promoting businesses would really need the support of the businesses though and the agencies who represent them. The #LoveSligo day was very different because everyone joined in and Sligo is so beautiful it promotes itself. Anyway onwards and upwards. In saying that I’ve just looked at the stats and they are pretty impressive.

I took a spin to Boyle yesterday to visit the Christmas Craft Fair and the Market. I was there very early, I don’t know about you but the rising numbers of Covid has me concerned. I never liked being in crowds anyway so I’m even more wary now. I go early, do what I have to do and come home. It was lovely though, the people there are very friendly, and one lady said the nicest thing to me. She said I’m like a presence that touches people with kindness. Isn’t that the nicest thing to say?

So anyway that’s my week in a nutshell. Keep a look out for the Roscommon Gift Guide, it’ll be published soon, and thanks for reading.
