Another Sunday so more thoughts. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and all around me I can hear the sounds of lawnmowers and power tools, along with Under Pressure on full volume, and I’m sitting here doing nothing, but that’s OK, rest is as important as everything else, and it’s been a hectic week.
This week we’ve been to places we haven’t been to since last year, including Ballina and Boyle, I’ll write about those another time.
Someone who used to be close to me died a couple of years ago and their house is undergoing a transformation, especially the garden which is now completely cleared. This person used to live for their garden and I’m kicking myself that I didn’t get any of the plants before they were removed. I was wondering what they would think about this. So yesterday I went to visit their grave, I don’t know what I was expecting but I didn’t feel anything.
Yesterday afternoon I was telling Lucy, from the Soul 2 Soul shop in Boyle about it, and I told her I was looking for some kind of sign that they are around. It was quite bizarre because as we were driving from Boyle to Carrick the accelerator pedal got stuck under the car mat. Luckily Andy was driving and was so calm, as he moved the car to the hard shoulder and managed to stop it and free the pedal. I would have been in bits. I get freaked out enough when the car beeps if my bag is too heavy on the passenger seat!
I don’t know if that was a sign or just some kind of coincidence but we’ve never had that happen before, in all our years of driving. Although we did have a duckling under the brake pedal once – but that’s a whole other story.
I hope you are all keeping well, thank you for reading.
