Afternoon Tea in The Glasshouse, Sligo

Today I took my friend for Afternoon Tea at The Glasshouse Hotel, Sligo. It was a late Christmas present and an early treat for her birthday. You all know what a fan of afternoon tea I am so it was as much a treat for me as her.

There was a lovely selection of sandwiches including salmon on brown bread, chicken wraps and a delicate cucumber and dill.

The cake selection included carrot cake, chocolate cake and there were also scones with jam and cream. Best of all there was one of each for us so no fighting over who had what. I’m shocking because I also go for a bite of a savoury and a bite of sweet. It was all delicious.

The top tier featured almond slices and the most gorgeous mini jars filled with Eton Mess. The service was great and the view was beautiful. The Afternoon Tea is served in the View Bar which overlooks the Garavogue River. It was such a lovely relaxing afternoon chatting and watching the world go by. All topped off by a beautiful rainbow.
