High Tea at the Bottom of the Sea

High Tea at the Bottom of the Sea

Today was such a special day for us and one that really touched our hearts. High tea at the bottom of the sea was held as a fundraiser for Jono’s Journey.

There is a group called the 50’s of ’66. It’s a great concept to celebrate a group of people born in 1966 who turn 50 this year. They have had several events, challenges, goals and fundraisers and we were honoured that they arranged the ‘high tea’ to fund-raise for spending money for Jono’s trip to America.

Goodies Galore

As we walked across the sand at Lower Rosses, a place I’d never been to before, we were greeted by colour and smiling faces all with a backdrop of the mighty Benbulben.

There were all kinds of lovely goodies to eat and the organisers had gone to so much trouble. We loved the table decorations complete with the Irish and American flags. There were fresh flowers and gorgeous drinks. On top of that the sun shone and we spent a happy few hours sitting on the beach enjoying the great company.

€155 was raised for Jono and he is so thrilled, not just by the money but by the fact that these lovely people went to so much effort for him. Sincere thanks to them all, to the people who donated food and to everyone who came along today. We had a fabulous day and we are very grateful.
