Apologies readers because you will be hungry after reading this post.
Last night Lucy and I went along to The Fairgreen Creative and Culinary Centre in Skreen, Co. Sligo for their first supper club. It was a French theme so Lucy donned her French top and I forgot all about it until I was there…and I don’t think anyone would have appreciated me with a string of garlic around my neck 😉
Well known Sligo Chef Brid Torrades came up with a delicious menu, my photos really don’t do the food justice as my flash batteries gave up on me. The food and service were both excellent and it was lovely to relax and be looked after for the evening. Lucy can’t eat dairy and this wasn’t a problem at all for Brid and her team. Lucy is still raving about the walnut cake she got for her dessert.
Be sure to check out The Fairgreen page for details of the next supper club and if you can’t wait until then you can always call in to sample the food from the cafe that Brid has there and check out the lovely art gallery too. At the moment photographer Ciaran McHugh has his ‘Into the Twilight – The Landscape of WB Yeats’ exhibition running at the centre.
Thanks so much to Brid for a really lovely night.
Skreen! It’s where my mother was born and where my last surviving aunt still lives on the home farm will check this out later Val
