Regular readers to my blog will remember the dilemma we had with the Aiden Grimshaw concert in the Cartown Nightclub in Carrick on Shannon. We had tickets bought and then the age was changed to over 18’s only. This is the previous blog post.
Lucy was really upset, she is a big fan. I tried everything to find a way around it but I failed. So anyway we decided to head over to Carrick on Shannon this afternoon anyway to stalk have a look for him. I guessed that he would be staying in the Landmark Hotel as it’s owned by the same people as Cartown.
We were only waiting ten minutes when we spotted him, so we went over and said hello. Lucy got a kiss, an autograph and gave Aiden a little zebra (which you can see in the photo). Aiden gave me a kiss too (starstruck!) and shook Jono’s hand. Poor Lucy was speechless. We went back to reception for her to calm down and then he walked through reception and gave Lucy a hug 😀 He’s a really nice lad and I hope he’s get a record deal soon.
Now that’s what I like – a story with a happy ending. Bet you’re really glad you went! Lucy looks very glamorous.
What a nice lad! Shame he didn’t offer he a special pass tho’ – bet he could have wangled it 😉
Thanks Alison. Lucy was hoping to get a pass too, although it didn’t start until 11pm so probably just as well (I’d have been asleep!)
I am so pleased she got to see him – read your blog on the tickets – which I thought was terrible. Did you ever find out why it was changed to over 18’s.
Thanks Sheila. I didn’t get any answers and it wasn’t for not trying. The hotel and the nightclub never returned my emails and calls….not very good customer service.
Great photos Val – has Lucy returned to earth yet:)
Not yet Michelle 😉
ah this is sooo nice….glad ya got to meet him after all.
Thanks 🙂
Ooh I love the little zebra. So glad your daughter (and you!) got to meet him in the end. What did Aiden say about the zebra?
Thanks 🙂 Aiden thought the zebra was really cute and put it on his top 🙂 We were trying to get him a bigger zebra but Carrick on Shannon is a small town and we failed 😦
LOL at the thought of you two on a zebra shopping mission! :-)) I think you were really on the ball to find one and give it to Aiden.
Why a zebra? Is there a special significance?
Glad things (sort of) worked out. Did you at least get your money back on the tickets?
Aiden likes zebras hence the zebra 😉 and yes I did get the money back for the tickets. It would have been nice to go to the concert but at least Lucy got to meet him.
