As promised I’m back again to tell you more about the trip to Dublin. We got the 9am train from Sligo so we could have a look around before the concert. I reckon most of the people on the train were going to Lady Gaga because we could hear most of her songs playing. Why people don’t use headphones I can’t fathom. Now I don’t mind at all as long as it’s decent music but when two lads behind us started playing Duck sauce – Barbara Streisand over and over again it got a bit annoying.
When we got to Dublin. Jono went to the Game On exhibition which is on at the moment in The Ambassador theatre. Lucy and I went around the shops. I think my favourite shop in Dublin is Arnotts, they have some really cool things there.
I joined Jono at the exhibition for an hour and took some photo’s. It’s really good. They have all the games consoles you can imagine including pong which I had when I was a young thing. We got to play loads of the games. The dance mat was projected onto a big screen. I love those dance games. We also had a go of The Beatles rock band. I was drumming along to Lucy in the sky with diamonds. I was getting so into it I almost threw my drumsticks in the air at the end!!
If anyone is in Dublin I would recommend Game On especially if you are interested in computer games, or even if you aren’t it’s a great couple of hours spent. Only two things were missing: There was no cafe or vending machine in there and there was no merchandise for sale. I daresay Jono would have bought a souvenir.
The next day we had a look around The Point Village market. There were all kinds of goodies for sale, mainly food but also Christmas ornaments, jewellery, nail art, and dog accessories. I got Rocket a little rain jacket. He doesn’t mind wearing it and at least it keeps him dry. Here are some photos of the market.
Jono and I went on The Dublin Wheel. Jono wasn’t too impressed at the start. It does go up high and it rocks slightly. The view is great though.

I recognise quite a lot of those!!! Had a few also!
Oh – and Jono – I just checked out Crystal Swing on Youtube – I think I’m with your mum on that one:)
Well done Michelle 🙂
crikey, i hope that Game On doesn’t come here. i’ll lose half my family immediately the doors open, and won’t get them back until the day it moves on…. hang on, did I say i hope it ‘doesn’t’ come here?…. pffffft!!!
one day I’m going to jump on a boat and come over and join you Val, would LOVE to see all the places you tell us about. xxx Maybe not Lady Gaga though. LOL
Thanks for sharing! xx
Jono loved the exhibition so much he wants to go back!
Dublin is great for all the different places, it’s just a pain that it’s 3 hours away!
Lady Gaga was great, this weekend it’s Paramore. I am so looking forward to that 😀
xx
Great shot of Lansdowne Road from the Dublin Eye, it looks like it’s just floating in mid-air, slightly above the houses there, doesn’t it?
I thought the building is cool. It does look a bit odd with all the houses around it though.
How did Mrs.Q47 like the Gibson?
