The day after tomorrow

Firstly my trusty laptop is buggered (that’s the technical term). So I’m using another laptop which doesn’t have my photos on…..so if you are wondering why my flickr hasn’t been updated that’s why. My laptop needs a new part which we have to order…..or maybe some kind soul out there might give me a new laptop….well if you don’t ask you don’t get 🙂

The reason for this post is that we were watching The Day After Tomorrow the other night. Is there a more far fetched film do you reckon?

This guy traipses all over the place in horrific weather conditions to find his son. He’s stuck in some kitchen (the dad not the son) and the cooker is working so he has heat. Well that’s a bloody miracle. We had ice in the photo above this year and my gas froze up…..and if it was an electric cooker there’s no way the electric would still be on.

Anyway he finds his son is in the library. Luckily there is a gap in the snow exactly where the library is….amazing! He finds the door which is covered in ice….and it opens, no effort or anything. This winter it took me at least a can of de-icer to get my car door open. Then my hand stuck to the ice…..I almost lost it due to frostbite 😉 No such problems for yer man though.

He goes into the library and finds his son and all his friends all warm in front of a lovely open fire…..fuelled by library books…..oh dear I would hate to think how much the fines will be.

Rant over….but seriously what a daft film.
