The Twilight Zone

Cloudy harvest moon, originally uploaded by magnum_lady.

Today I met with my friend for a coffee and a chat. The cafe that we usually go to is closed so we went to a different place.

Well we went in….and we waited….and waited. Not a sign of any member of staff. After about 10 minutes we finally got served. Then I decided we needed a snack bar or something so I went in search of one.
Again not a sign of a member of staff. I must say I was tempted to help myself to a couple of vodkas šŸ˜‰ I ended up having to go behind the counter and into the kitchen. It was so empty, like something out of the Twilight Zone, or The Shining. I managed to stop myself running down the hallway shouting redrum. Finally I found a chef who told me to ask a waitress…….yes dear I would if I could bloody well find one!!

In the end I got my snack bars (about three hours after we had our coffee). Then my friend wanted another coffee…..and yes you guessed it, no one to serve us. At the same time two ladies walked in and were also bemused by the lack of service.

When the waitress finally appeared the two ladies asked for scones….well the waitress looked at them like they had two heads! Imagine asking for scones in a cafe! What were they thinking??

Isn’t it great to see Irish hospitality alive and well šŸ˜‰

  1. Hilarious! It sounds like Faulty Towers!

Your full moon shot is well-timed as my daughter is attending a ‘full moon’ party in Thailand tonight where it seems that just about every college student from Ireland, is hanging out!

Good to hear the update on Andy too. While Warfarin has it’s uses, the frequent blood tests are a pain, in more way than one! šŸ˜€

    1. It was like Fawlty Towers Steph, actually I think it was worse!

Hope your daughter enjoyed her party.

Andy is delighted to be off the warfarin, he hates taking tablets.
