Sunday Thoughts

Happy Sunday! The week flew by, we had a wonderful time last Sunday for Andy’s birthday and our wedding anniversary, we didn’t have anything planned, but we headed to Strandhill, even though it was lashing rain, and we had a really lovely time. I’ve written about the food here.

It’s been a busy week, there’s a big project in the pipeline, and I’m very excited about it. I won’t say much about it yet, because it’s very early days, but I’ll let you know as soon as things progress. I’m working alongside someone who I really admire, and I’m enjoying meeting up with them and plotting and planning.

I recorded two podcast episodes this week, I love chatting to people, and I love editing the podcasts too. You can hear Anna’s inspirational story here, and I will write a blog post about her. It takes me a while to process things, and I’m still thinking about how much she has overcome, and how positive she is.

I also got to go exploring yesterday, and I will write more about that in another blog post (and there’s also a short podcast chat. I visited Saffron’s beautiful garden, this is one of the Secret Gardens of Sligo, and it was just a short distance from Lough Gara (pic at the top of the blog). What a really magical experience it was.

It was Yeats Day on Thursday, I didn’t go to any of the events, but I did recite one of the poems. If you turn your volume up, you’ll hear it on the video.

Next week is a quieter week. I’m giving a talk about my mental health experience at a local women’s shed. I’m actually looking forward to it, and I hope it’s of interest to the people. I’m not an expert, but I do think lived experience is important.

It’s Father’s Day here today. Another Hallmark Day I think. My dad died in 2009, and I don’t really remember any Father’s Days. We had a strange relationship, a real mixed bag. I like to think he’s a peace now.

I think that’s my lot for now, wishing you all a happy Sunday and a lovely week ahead. Thanks, as always, for reading.
