Sligo Food News – April, 2026

I wasn’t going to do a Sligo Food News blog post this month, it takes such a lot of time, but there is such a lot of news this month – so here we are. Also, I had to share the cutest coffee that I’ve ever had! It was made by Julia in The Gate Lodge Cafรฉ, Doorly Park, I saw a post on their Facebook page featuring the amazing coffee art, and I had to pop in. They also have cakes by Debba Bakes – including gluten-free ones.

Sligo Oyster Experience at The Harbour Bar Pullaheeney. Pair with a cold Guinness, a crisp glass of Chablis, or Prosecco to start the weekend right Walk up, order, and enjoy. Doors open at 1pm, oysters are served from 3pm. Saturday 4th April.

The Glasshouse Hotel has an incredible theme night running every Thursday this month. Itโ€™s Sri Lankan Curry night, and itโ€™s incredible. You can read more about it on my blog here. Pre-booking is essential.

Shells recently celebrated 16 years in business. A very happy birthday to them! They also have a new menu, and it sounds amazing.

Congratulations to Funkรฉ who was listed as one of the 26 women contributing to Irelandโ€™s food scene in 2026. I’m sorry that the restaurant is closed at the moment, due to a flood. I hope they will be back open again soon.
