I was absolutely delighted to be invited along to the opening night of Rock of Ages at the Hawk’s Well Theatre. It was so kind of Karen Gordon to extend the invitation. I’m often asked to promote events, but it’s not very often that I actually get invited along to experience them, so it really meant a lot.

I can honestly say I was completely blown away. Sunset Strip arrived in Sligo and practically blew the roof off the Hawk’s Well Theatre. From the stage set to the live band, the singing, the dancing, and the laugh-out-loud moments – it was nothing short of incredible.

There’s something really special about going to the theatre and feeling totally immersed, and that’s exactly what this show delivered. Every single performer was so in character and completely believable.

Cathal, who plays Drew, has the most incredible voice and was absolutely perfect for the role. One of my favourite scenes was “I Can’t Fight This Feeling” – such an unexpected and hilarious take on a love story if you’ve never seen the show before!

There were so many standout moments. It was an absolute joy from start to finish, it’s a real gem of a show and one not to be missed. I couldn’t sleep last night because I kept thinking about it!

I actually saw Rock of Ages in the Bord Gáis Theatre in Dublin back in 2014, and I have to say – this pop-up theatre version was even better.

You only have a few more days to catch it, and tickets are flying – so don’t miss your chance! Book here: https://www.hawkswell.com/whats-on/shows/rock-of-ages
