Martina Hamilton Triumphs at Showcase Ireland with Sustainability Award Win

I was delighted to read that Sligo based jewellery designer Martina Hamilton has won the Sustainability Award at the prestigious Showcase Awards held as part of Showcase – Ireland’s Creative Expo in Dublin’s RDS.

This accolade was awarded in recognition of her standout piece, the Ériu 5mm Lab Diamond White Gold Ring, a design that blends environmental consciousness with exquisite craftsmanship. According to Martina’s own announcement, receiving this award was an incredible honour for her and her team.

A Ring with Purpose and Planet in Mind

What makes Martina’s award-winning ring so special isn’t just its elegant design, it’s the ethos behind its creation. Each ring is:

  • Ethically responsible – free from the social and environmental concerns tied to traditional diamond mining.
  • Environmentally conscious – made with less impact on the planet.
  • Accessible – often more affordable than mined diamonds, while offering the same sparkle and strength.

This approach reflects Martina’s long-held philosophy that jewellery should be both beautiful and mindful of its impact on the world.

From Sligo to the Spotlight

Martina Hamilton is inspired by Sligo’s landscapes and heritage, transforming that influence into jewellery collections beloved by customers and collectors across Ireland and abroad.

Her award at Showcase Ireland reinforces her position as a creative force and a sustainability pioneer – someone who proves that high craftsmanship and ethical practice can go hand in hand, and I am delighted for her.

I have several pieces of Martina Hamilton’s jewellery, and I love them all. You can find them on her website, and also in The Cat and The Moon, Castle Street, Sligo, and she ships Worldwide too: https://martinahamilton.ie/
