I was delighted to hear the news that the Hawk’s Well Theatre, in partnership with Sligo County Council, will be the principal tenant and operator of the Art Deco Theatre in Ballymote.
The Art Deco Theatre was originally called the Abbey Cinema, and it was built in the late 1940s. The cinema closed in1975, and sat idle for over 30 years, until it was restored and reopened in 2012.
